  Radon Outreach and Education

The Indoor Radon program operates a collaborative federal indoor radon grant in cooperation with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) and a network of local health departments within the State of Ohio.

With federal funds, the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) has been able to develop and implement an extensive indoor radon program serving the residents of Ohio, utilizing resources at both the state and local level.

Elevated levels of indoor radon, above the guidelines published by the US. EPA, is the primary cause of lung cancer among non-smokers.

The United States Surgeon General warning: Radon Causes Lung Cancer - You Should Test Your Home.
