Dave Holston - Chief, Office of Health Assurance and Licensing

 
As Chief of the Office of Health Assurance and Licensing (OHAL), Dave Holston currently oversees 47 regulatory programs that focus on environmental health and healthcare delivery systems. OHAL programs include the regulation and inspection of healthcare facilities as well as disease prevention through the protection of air, food, water and soil.

Dave also serves as the designated State Survey Agency Director of Ohio for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). CMS is the U.S. federal agency that administers Medicare, Medicaid and the State Children's Health Insurance Program. 

Dave began his career at ODH in 1995, and has more than 28 years of experience in the regulatory arena responsible for enforcement, field operations and interpretation of rules and regulations. He is a registered sanitarian and is Green Belt-certified in Six Sigma, a disciplined, data-driven approach and methodology for eliminating defects in the efficiency of various processes. Dave has also served as a lieutenant in the National Guard.
