Tamara McBride - Chief, Office of Health Preparedness

As Chief of the Office of Health Preparedness (OHP), Tamara McBride oversees OHP’s work with individual programs to develop effective planning documents and tools that support a comprehensive and coordinated Ohio Department of Health emergency response.

Tamara leads efforts to provide ODH and its stakeholders with expertise and resources in the areas of emergency response planning, Implementation of the principle associated with the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and Incident Command System (ICS) training.

Prior to joining ODH in 2014, she provided direction on crisis and risk communication, performance management and continuous improvement initiatives at the Ohio Emergency Management Agency for six years. Tamara also served as Director of Marketing and Communications for the City of Cleveland Department of Public Health for seven years.
