Employee Assistance Program Intervention Services for Organizations in Transition
Employees who lose their jobs or who may be losing their jobs because of downsizing are the most vulnerable populations to experience stress-related problems while they’re still on the job and/or after termination.
Employees who remain after a downsizing or re-organization may also experience problems related to guilt, job security, and anger. Left unresolved, these feelings may trigger: (1) loss of loyalty, (2) higher turnover, (3) lower productivity, (4) decreased morale, and (5) decline in performance.
The OEAP offers support and education in an effort to address the concerns of both groups.
