The Ohio Department of Health Tobacco Use Prevention and Cessation Program

The Ohio Department of Health Tobacco Use Prevention and Cessation Program has several goals:

  • Prevent youth tobacco use: Prevent Ohioans from starting to use tobacco products
  • Quit smoking: Help Ohioans quit using tobacco products
  • Protect Ohioans from exposure to health-threatening secondhand smoke
  • Smoke-Free Workplace Law: Educate Ohioans about state law that prohibits smoking in public places and places of employment
    • Enforce the state law banning smoking in the workplace, including businesses
    • Investigate complaints and answer questions from business owners and the public
