Ohio’s Pediatric Obesity CoIIN

ASPHN supports 13 states, through a pediatric obesity mini CoIIN, to collaborate across diverse agencies to work on obesity related issues in early care and education settings. The Ohio CoIIN team was first funded in 2015.

Ohio’s CoIIN team includes representatives from the Ohio Department of Health, Ohio Department of Education, Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services, Ohio Head Start Collaborative, and Action For Children.

In 2017, the Ohio CoIIN team is focused on making recommendations for health standards to be added to the Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS) for early care and education settings. These recommendations will be revised with input from focus groups with QRIS monitors and early care and education providers around the state.
