Hospital Performance Measures Data
From April 2007 to Arpril 2009 the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) required Ohio hospitals to report semi-annual data. ODH collected six measures endorsed by the Joint Commission, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and the National Quality Forum regarding heart attacks, heart failure and pneumonia. In addition, the ODH collected five Patient Safety Indicators created by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality regarding surgical procedures. The information reported by the hospitals is available in the reports below.
Beginning October 2009 the Ohio Department of Health requires Ohio hospitals to report on over 100 performance measures. These measures will be available to the public on the "Ohio Hospital Compare" website beginning January 1, 2010.

The below data reports provide some basic explanation of each measure. For more detailed information and measure definitions please refer to the measure description document.

Ohio Revised Code section 3727.33 requires each hospital to submit information showing its performance in meeting inpatient and outpatient service measures to the Director of Health on a semi-annual basis. The performance measures that must be reported at the present time are specified in Ohio Administrative Code rule 3701-14, Reporting of Hospital Performance Measures.
