The Medical Specialty Clinic program provides free access to hearing and vision services to children in medically underserved areas of Ohio. These clinical services provide both diagnosis and treatment to children through agreements with pediatric specialists and local health departments. Public health nurses from local health departments assist families in applying for Medicaid and BCMH, and help families make follow-up appointments for other testing or surgery. The map indicator will provide contact information for the counties that offer these clinics.
The Medical Specialty Clinic program also partners with local health departments and hospitals to provide cardiac, neurology and orthopedic services in identified areas of need. Through these partnerships, children have access specialty services at a cost.
