  Specialty Clinics Descriptions                


Hearing Clinics

A child can be referred to a hearing clinic for suspected ear pathology, hearing problem, speech/language delay or for failing a hearing screening. Hearing clinics are staffed by public health nurses, audiologists, speech language pathologists and otolaryngologists, who are licensed and/or board certified in their specialty. Services provided include tympanometry, pure tone testing, speech reception thresholds and otoacoustic emissions.

Vision Clinics

A child is referred to a vision clinic for eye turn pathology and/or failing a vision screening. Vision clinics are staffed by public health nurses, vision consultants, optometrists and ophthalmologists who are licensed and/or board certified in their specialty. Vision clinics perform examination of the eyes to determine refractive and medical problems.59265-hearing.jpg

 

Specialized Partnership Descriptions

Cardiac Clinics

A child can be referred to a cardiac clinic for suspected heart murmur, aortic stenosis, pulmonic stenosis, ventrical septal defect, coar of the aorta or any other congenital cardiac problem that requires diagnosis or intervention by a specialist. Cardiac clinics are staffed by public health nurses and physicians who are board certified in cardiology.

Neurology Clinics 

A child can be referred to a neurology clinic for traditional neurological disorders, movement disorders, headaches that are severe enough to cause limitations of activity, seizures, neuromuscular disease, progressive deterioration, neurogenetic syndrome, or micro/macrocephaly. Neurology clinics are staffed by public health nurses and physicians who are board certified in neurology.

Orthopedic Clinics

A child can be referred to an orthopedic clinic for scoliosis, cerebral palsy, genu varum, genu valgum, knee problems, tibial torsion, back pain, leg length discrepancy or any congenital orthopedic problem that requires diagnosis or intervention by a specialist. Orthopedic clinics are staffed by public health nurses and physicians who are board certified in orthopedics.
