This report summarizes findings from focus groups conducted with African-American men assessing their knowledge, attitude and beliefs about the prevention and control of high blood pressure and findings from the structured interviews conducted with physicians and other health care providers treating African-American men.This report providers recommendations for implementing an educational campaign aimed at African-American men at risk or currently diagnosed with high blood pressure and the health care providers offering them treatment.

This report provides a summary and recommendations from a planning session held to assist Ohio Department of Health, Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention Program in identifying and implementing culturally appropriate approaches that promote cardiovascular health within its priority populations. Representatives from organizations serving African American, Appalachian, Asian and Asian Americans, immigrant, Hispanic/Latino and refugee populations along with their respective urban or rural components, participated in this day-long planning session.
