Influenza and Pneumonia Immunization Campaign

The immunization campaign is a communications campaign initiated by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Its aim is to increase awareness of the importance of vaccination and to encourage the public, especially those with diabetes, to get influenza (flu) and pneumococcal vaccinations.

The message is dispersed to the public through:

• Public Service Advertising- on radio and TV stations
   
• Health Systems Intervention- Providing health providers with consumer brochures and posters to display and distribute in waiting rooms
   
• "Flu Shots- It's Important to Know"
   
• Diabetes and Influenza Facts
