Health Promotion
Public health interventions which lack good data (epidemiological/intervention data), evaluation protocols and strategic coordination will not be efficacious in preventing injury, cardiovascular disease, sexual assault, tobacco use and breast/cervical cancer. The Center for Health Promotion functions to maximize the effectiveness of statewide/local prevention programs by developing information systems to track program impact; conduct formative research activities for program planning; educating the public health workforce; forming strategic partnerships to address the health needs of populations with disparate health issues; and coordinating interventions to modify unhealthy behaviors.
