Preventive Health and Health Services Block Grant (PHHSBG)
The Preventive Health and Health Services Block Grant (PHHSBG) addresses our state health priorities while fulfilling public health functions and essential public health services to protect and improve the health of all Ohioans. This asset builds capacity at the state level for rapid response, creates and sustains public health programs and assesses areas of greatest need. The single focus of this federal funding is to prevent disease and promote good health. The PHHSBG supports projects in local communities and funds initiatives when no other funds are available. Through flexibility and autonomy Ohio is able to maximize public health efforts. This block grant does not fill gaps, it fills voids.
