Hepatitis C Prevention and Control

The Ohio Department of Health’s Hepatitis C Prevention and Control section consults with local health departments, health care providers, health care facilities, community agencies and the general public to prevent and control hepatitis C. The section also implements and evaluates hepatitis C integration into HIV counseling and testing sites. The year 2004 was the first full year of hepatitis C counseling and testing at 11 pilot sites throughout Ohio. Each pilot site was an already established HIV counseling and testing site. The current target population consists of those with risk factors for both HIV and hepatitis C virus (HCV) who seek HIV testing at the 11 HIV-HCV Integration Pilot Sites throughout the state.

This site contains HIV prevention messages that may not be appropriate for all audiences.
