Hazardous Materials Awareness
ODH has worked with the Division of State Fire Marshal and other agencies to develop a new Hazardous Materials Awareness Training Package. Awareness is the first level of training in the Hazmat Series. Local health staff and officials routinely inspect buildings, construction sites and investigating complaints of every kind. Hazardous materials training is crucial for the well being of those field personnel.
The Hazmat Awareness Class is three-hours that includes the nine hazmat levels, how to use your senses to recognize a problem, and the beginning stages of identifying hazardous materials.
This class is offered throughout the year at the Ohio Fire Academy and can also be taught on your site by ODH Staff.
For further information, call the Ohio Fire Academy at 614-752-8200 and ask for the Outreach Program.
