Radiological Planning and Monitoring Classes

There are 29 counties in the state of Ohio that are in a fallout area for one of four nuclear power plants. Two of these plants are in Ohio, one in Michigan and one in Pennsylvania. Planning for nuclear disasters in these areas should be a part of the Local Health Department Annex to the County Disaster Plan. This includes the counties within the five-mile radius of the plant and also the 50-mile radius. ODH has sample templates for writing radiological plans. In addition, on-site visits can help you make your plan become operational. For further information, contact Santosh Kumar at 614-466-5599.
