Health Care Facility (Imaging/Radiation Therapy Centers)
According to Ohio Code the director of health is permitted to adopt safety standards, quality of care standards and quality of care reporting requirements for certain health services and health care facilities.
On Apr. 20, 1995, Health Care Facilities Regulations went into effect. The regulations contain requirements for:
- Facility licensure,
- Personnel staffing and qualifications,
- Equipment maintenance and quality assurance programs,
- Patient protection and education,
- Record maintenance and reporting requirements, and
- Inspections
As of Fiscal Year (FY) 2007 there were approximately 42 radiation therapy facilities and 521 free-standing or mobile imaging centers licensed by the state.
