Decommissioning

Decommissioning state licensees includes monitoring, evaluation and closure of sites throughout Ohio where radioactive materials have been handled, used, stored, processed or packaged.  Decommissioning staff provides oversight and inspects licensed decommissioning activities.  These activities include license transfers, terminations and facility closeouts of all radioactive materials licensees.  Decommissioning reviews and approves decommissioning plans.

Staff members attend public meetings to provide radiological health information to the public relating to the decommissioning or surveying of sites within Ohio.
