This section supports other programs in the bureau and oversees bureau training activities, development of bureau procedures and promulgation of rules. Technical Support includes involvement in all Utility Radiological Safety Board (URSB) activities, environmental surveillance around commercial nuclear power plants, federal sites undergoing clean-up, and radiation emergency & bio-terrorism preparedness and response. The Ohio Department of Health Division of Prevention has a single public health response telephone number. The response number is 614-722-7221 and is staffed 24/7. The response number provides a centralized point of contact to report Class A (1) infectious diseases, suspect bioterrorism acts, chemical incidents, radiation incidents and natural disasters.
