Child Fatality Review Rules

The Ohio Revised Code (ORC) §307.621 states that a board of county commissioners shall appoint a health commissioner of the board of health of a city or general health district to establish a child fatality review board to review the deaths of children under 18 years of age.

In addition, ORC § 3701.045(A) states that the Ohio Department of Health, in consultation with the Children’s Trust Fund Board and the CFR boards in existence prior to the law, shall adopt rules in accordance with chapter 119 of the Revised Code that establish a procedure for Child Fatality Review Boards to follow in conducting a review of the death of a child.
