Community Health Care Facilities & Services Functions

Community Health Care Facilities and Services functions include:

  • Conducting on-site survey visits to health care providers and suppliers participating in or applying to participate in the federal Medicare program.
  • Conducting on-site inspections of health care providers and suppliers who are either licensed by the Ohio Department of Health as a health care facility or subject to the statute and rules set forth for health care services in the state of Ohio. These providers or suppliers may or may not be concurrently regulated under both federal Medicare and state standards.
  • Conducting on-site inspection of hospital-based maternity units, newborn care nurseries and maternity homes.
  • Conducting on-site inspections of freestanding birthing centers for compliance with state licensure requirements.
