Online Continuing Education Opportunities for Health Professionals:

Ohio Department of Health Asthma Program is pleased to offer a series of one-hour webcasts for health professionals titled, Asthma Care for Health Professionals. The webcasts provide a wide variety of evidence-based training covering topics specific to the treatment of asthma. Continuing nursing education contact hours are awarded for all courses. The Asthma Program is pleased to offer continuing education opportunities for health professionals. The  online independent study archived  one-hour courses covering evidence-based guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of asthma as outlined in by the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute. Courses also cover informational topics to assist in caring for patients with asthma. Continuing nursing education contact hours are awarded for all courses. Asthma Education for Schools:

Training on Medication Administration

The Medication Administration in Ohio Schools: Training for School Personnel, designed by the Ohio Department of Health School Nursing Program, is for licensed health professionals. The course provides training for the licensed health professional and access to the course materials to be used to train designated school personnel in the administration of prescription medication to students. Recommended Asthma Home Visit Design

The referral recommendations for a home visit for asthma is based on the National Institute of Health, National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute National Asthma Education and Prevention Program (NAEPP) Expert Panel Review-3 (EPR-3) guidelines. Click here for a copy.
