Important Safety Information
For victims of abuse using a computer at home, or where an abuser has access to it, can be very dangerous. It is impossible to erase all computer history. Additionally, spyware can be installed onto your computer without your knowledge and give the abuser ways to track and monitor your computer activity.
We highly recommend that you use a computer that you know is “safe,” and to which the abuser does not have access. You can go to a trusted friend’s home, a public library, or a rape crisis or domestic violence program in your community.

The Governor’s Office for Women’s Initiative and Outreach, Ohio Board of Regents and ODH convened a statewide Task Force broadly representing Ohio’s campus communities and partners to indentify best practices to prevent and respond to sexual and intimate partner violence and stalking. The Task Force published the Guidebook (August 2010) that identifies key recommendations Ohio’s colleges and universities can implement in four focused areas: Preparedness, Prevention, Response and Recovery. By taking this focused approach, the Task Force seeks to provide avenues for short and long term action by Ohio colleges and the individuals within them. Click here for Ohio Campus Guidebook

- Project Connect
The ODH Family Planning Program, SADVPP and the Ohio Domestic Violence Network (ODVN) are collaborating on a new pilot project addressing at-risk populations in family planning clinics and adolescent health setting about sexual and reproductive coercion. ODVN received a grant from the Futures without Violence formerly known as the Family Violence Prevention Fund (http://www.futureswithoutviolence.org) to identify, assess and implement support and referral mechanisms to victims of coercion and violence.
Four ODH-funded family planning agencies and seven adolescent health sites have been chosen to participate in this pilot project. Clinic staff at the pilot sites will be trained on improving screening techniques of all clients for sexual and reproductive coercion and on referrals of identified victims to resources within their community. Additionally, the pilot project will be strengthening partnerships between the local family planning clinics and the corresponding local domestic violence and sexual violence agencies.
For more information contact the ODH Family Planning Program at 614-466-5332.
