Dental Safety Net Program Funding

The Dental Safety Net Program strives to reduce disparities in access to dental care by expanding the capacity of the dental safety net to serve Ohioans who are unable to afford private dental care. The dental safety net includes public dental clinics, school-based dental care and mobile/portable dental care programs.

Funding supports comprehensive (diagnostic, preventive and therapeutic) services for a significant number of Ohioans who would not otherwise receive care. Funding may support the cost of clinic operations (by offsetting costs of uncompensated care) and, in limited situations, may be used to purchase dental equipment.
