The Radiologic Technology Section has been inspecting Freestanding and Mobile Diagnostic Imaging Centers, and Freestanding Radiation Therapy Centers since May, 1997.  The purpose of the inspections is to assure compliance with Chapter 3701-83 of the Ohio Administrative Code. The inspections cover the facility's policies and procedures on topics such as patient care, personnel and staffing, medical records, general quality assessment and improvement and service standards and equipment.

New facilities are required to pass an inspection prior to operation.  Personnel from the Radiologic Technology Section will contact the facility to schedule an initial inspection within three weeks of receipt of the application.  Early receipt of the application will better guarantee a timely inspection by the facility's projected opening date.  Routine inspections are conducted every three years, unless otherwise necessary.
