After numerous incidents, ODH decided that a protocol must be developed. We convened a meeting with ODH Labs, Infectious Disease, BEHT, the FBI, OSP and OEMA. From this meeting came the beginnings of a protocol. It also developed a procedure for moving any specimens to the ODH lab at OSU. This allowed the suspect specimens to be identified about 6 times faster than the old way. One of the things here is that the chain of evidence be maintained.
