Notes:
Isolation/patient transport and cleaning equipment, standard precautions should be used.
Patient placement- no need for private room since airborne transmission does not occur.
Discharge management- no special discharge instructions are indicated EXCEPT stringent adherence to AB therapy.
Post-mortem care- Standard precautions should be used. To include wearing personal protective equipment, including masks & eye protection, when generation of aerosols or splatter of body fluids is anticipated.
